ReVision

        Please look over your previous writings for this course and select the one that you're most interested in and least satisfied with--the one that satisfies both of those conditions. Then revise it.

        By "revise" I don't mean fix the spelling or other superficial changes like that. I do mean what the word's elements specify:
 

re   =  back, returning to a previous state; 
again, anew, over again
vise   = to survey; view, inspect

        So I mean look at the writing again as if for the first time and write it over.

        That may well entail adding, deleting, changing--maybe even seeing the whole thing anew and starting over.

        Please bring both the original version and the revision to class next time.
