Aw, shoot!  Look at the lint that was on the glass.  And it's a bit bluish to my eye, and the brightness and contrast need tweaking.  (I sometimes get different color renditions, even when scanning the same image without changing any settings.)

On the other hand, this is the toughest-to-scan 35 mm slide I could find, and even so it's a recognizable image.  And the only thing I needed to make this image--aside from the scanner, of course--was one sheet of paper.




Scanned at 600 dpi with Shadow & Highlight adjusted and Unsharp Mask filter turned on.  No post-scan processing.  The lighter area at the bottom is not an artifact of the scanning.  It's on the slide, itself.  I don't know what caused it.
